About Isla White
Welcome to my blog. I wanted to introduce myself but when you think about introducing yourself to someone you may not know, it is quite a difficult task. How I define myself I find is quite variable depending on the situation that I am in.
I could say I am female, late 30s, with hair. I am also a wife, a mother and an animal lover. I am a daughter and a sister and I am a scientist who loves computers and learning more. I have some qualifications with a degree and a PhD. I have always enjoyed writing and love to make people smile. I think I see myself as the eternal student and when I read ‘late 30s’ it makes me shudder with disbelief..
I have lived in the UK all my life but have changed locations quite a few times. My home town is Manchester, I studied in Brighton and London and I reside in Cardiff. That is quite a lot of information but still not sure you know much more about me.
That makes me wonder, how much does anyone really know about anyone else? A question for another time me thinks..
One thing that I find difficult is making time to sit and write. I thought I would try to develop a blog to see if people enjoyed reading my ramblings and whether I should try harder to do this more. I would appreciate all feedbacks and comments good or bad. I would also love to know your thoughts on some of the subjects I’ve posted on and if you think they are worth expanding further.
I hope I can make you smile (even just a little)!

Thanks for liking my blog, I think we are kindred spirits. I too enjoy making people smile. My kids give me plenty to smile about.
Thank you for your comment and I really enjoyed your blog. I agree children have a natural gift for laughter!
When you say animal lover do u mean Animal from the muppets? or animals in general? Cute cat btw. I would have to say just keep writing and you will find your voice as well as what works best. THanks for stopping by Babble0n5!
I do like animal from the muppets but had meant animals in general. Had hoped to be a vet in a previous life… Thanks for words of encouragement – it is quite hard when you first start out!
I do have hair! I am a woman. I’m a wife. I write. I love animals. I used to breed and show Russian Blues. Now I have 3 cats and a Greyhound. So far, so good. I am much older than you..ahem. I wrote plays at age 8. I majored in psych- now you see why I need to write;-) I live and am from the USA (second generation). Yes, always second, never first)) I am a sister of one older deceased brother and another older brother (all many years apart). We have never lived near relatives (sometimes that’s a good things, sometimes not). I’m a mother of one male- old. I say things others would not, even though I believe they aren’t very crazy to say. Don’t know why people laugh at it and say, “Oh, Carol, you’re too funny.” Who, me, you’re kidding…One of my passions is ancient Egypt. Went there last Oct. Wow!
Our Furkids: Missy Kitty, Blitzen, Khufu and Tosca
Thank you so much for your comment. Whenever someone asks me to describe someone I always want to describe their hair but all I can think is ‘they have hair’.. Very new to blogging but encouraged by your support, thank you!
I like the story of Jasper the Zombie dog
Xx
Hi Dad, The best part was when Elle turned round and told me Lucky had scammed her.. Then I saw Lucky with a red sticky on her head!
How much does anyone know about someone else? That is a fantastic question, just because you know facts about someone and general information does it mean you know them as a person? I think not. I have to say you should continue with the blogs, I quite enjoy them, as far as I see it your not harming anyone else and You have a really good sense of humor and ask some really deep questions, would say this is one of the best blogs out there.
Thank you Vicky! It is really good to have positive feedback. I enjoy writing the blogs and it is great fun taking pictures and telling the stories behind them.
Thank you stopping by my blog…the world needs more humor, glad you are here!
~Beth
Thank you Beth – Really liked your blog and agree laughter goes a long way in this world!

xxxx
Dad
Hurray!! So excited now – we woke up this morning and it is festive activities only in our household! I think we will be needing lots of deli lunches this week and I’m off to get that crate of prosecco you ordered later! Have a safe journey and see you real soon xx
Hello, Thank you for the ‘like’. Impressive lady. One way to answer that timeless question..”That makes me wonder, how much does anyone really know about anyone else?” A question for another time me thinks..is..one cannot know others until one honestly knows themselves..Peace Tony
Tony thank you for your feedback – really appreciated. To know oneself is also quite difficult. I believe we are on a constant journey in our lives and quite often things change along the path that can also change how you view yourself. I know that for me once I became a Mother I certainly was a very different person to before and even now with less significant life changes happening the perception of oneself still evolves! Merry Christmas and Happy 2012!
Thank you for visiting my blog. I love that you don’t notice ones hair. We’d be perfect in-person friends. I hate my hair and won’t do a thing about it. Don’t care anymore.
To Carol above: I want one of your blues.
Thank you for stopping by Tricia. I agree hair is very frustrating and have resorted to cutting mine very short which has turned out to be a very constructive way of dealing with it. No more thin flyaway hair! Looking forward to your further updates on alien abductions!
Thank You so much. This came as a surprise, a very beautiful surprise. Yes . I will be getting back very soon. Thank you very much.
